Nestled in the beautiful Texas Hill Country, Sodalis Elder Living Graceland has been the community of choice for seniors since we were built in 2007! Our levels of care provide for individuals who are independent, as well as those who need a little, or a lot, of assistance with daily tasks such as medications, bathing, dressing, etc.
Graceland Assisted Living joined the Sodalis family in January of 2009. We were approached by the owner of Graceland, a real estate developer, who asked if we would be interested in taking over their operation. We decided to take on this opportunity, knowing that it would be challenging to adjust to a larger setting. We have been excited to see that the culture we have developed in our smaller settings has translated into this larger community. Care and concern for residents is our primary focus, regardless of the size of the community.

It’s a Community for Life!
Michelle Sutton, Director of Sodalis Elder Living & Memory Care, joined the Sodalis Elder Living Team in August of 2010. She has been serving aging adults since 2007 and considers it a privilege to be part of a team that carries out its core values of Integrity, Service, Dignity, and Excellence. Michelle enjoys serving alongside her experienced compassionate team and counts it a blessing to care for the residents. When asked what touches her heart in her role, her response would be “God has changed and blessed me beyond measure in the midst of my seniors. I learn so much from them and have become a better mother, a better wife, a better friend, and a better individual in their presence. I love giving back and returning the care and kindness they have shown us.”
Michelle’s community involvement has included serving as Senior Ambassador with the Schertz Chamber of Commerce, chairman of the American Cancer Society Greater Randolph Area Relay for Life, Co-Chair of Cibolofest, little league coach, and numerous church related events. Michelle is married to Johnny Sutton and they are the proud parents of four children, daughters Kimber-24 and Kenadi-16, and sons Christopher-20 and Connor-15. Michelle is a member of Northeast Bible Church in Garden Ridge.
Assisted Living residents are those who do not need skilled nursing care, but may need assistance with some aspects of daily life. This can include personal care such as dressing and grooming, monitoring of health, safety, and overall well-being, coordination of outside health care, assistance with medication, companionship, and more. Our residents at Sodalis live in their own private apartment within our community so that they have the support and services they need, while continuing to be as independent and active as possible. We offer several levels of assistance so we can provide just what each resident needs.
We have 45 suites with two floor plans to choose from. Each suite includes built in storage, emergency call system, refrigerator and microwave. Our affordable monthly cost is based on your choice of suite and individual care plan. All suites include utilities, routine maintenance, 3-meals a day, and linen/personal laundry service.
In evaluating the needs of Garden Ridge and surrounding area, we saw a great need to establish memory care services in the area. We adapted space in the general assisted living area and converted it into a unit for those with Alzheimer’s and other dementias. Our 8 memory care rooms continue to be in high demand.
Sodalis Elder Living’s Alzheimer’s and dementia wing is dedicated to the unique needs of residents with memory care conditions. We focus on maximizing each resident’s quality of life by understanding and meeting his or her social, emotional, spiritual and physical needs. Our supportive environment promotes the dignity and individuality of each resident.

Sodalis Graceland Testimonials
Just wanted you to know that today two of your employees went to extraordinary lengths to retrieve my mother’s bottom dentures when they had been lost and sent to the dumpster. Megan Muniz called to let me know my mother’s dentures were missing and after some discussion and a thorough search of her room, she and Julietta Favela looked until the item was found. As you must know, dentures are costly and new ones would represent considerable sacrifices in time and money. I can’t tell you how much we all appreciate their kind and generous efforts. Thanks for your time.

To whom it may concern, I wanted to acknowledge the excellent work Kelli and Christina, CNAs in your Memory Care Unit, perform. They go above and beyond for your residents everyday. Working in a dementia unit is difficult, takes continual patience and love for the residents. These employees exhibit patience, love and concern for your residents daily. Kelli did an excellent job last week with one resident. She noted to me that this resident had a slight facial droop and noticed a slight weakness in the arm. These issues were slight and difficult to notice. With this information, the resident was sent to the ER and diagnosed with a stroke. The doctor noted that if the resident had not been assessed that day, the resident would have potentially died that night. The excellent work that Kelli did with this resident helped to save his life. This work should be commended. I also want to acknowledge the excellent work that Christina performs in your Memory Care Unit. She is loving and caring with your residents. She goes above and beyond for them - assisting with ADLs, activities and exercise with love and care, and knows how to adapt her communication based on cognitive needs. Your organization and residents are very luck to have these employees. I appreciate all the help they provide when I am working with your residents in their PT sessions.
